It’s often been said that you can find any kind of ethnic cuisine in New York. And you can have it delivered. At 2AM. And that’s all true, but one of the things that amazes me most about the city’s variety is that you can also find a sports bar full of fans of your team–no matter what your team is. During the 2006 World Cup, there were Brazil bars, Italy bars, Sweden bars, you name it. If you came from a country that was in the tournament, there was a sports bar somewhere in NYC where you could watch the game with your landsmen.

So it was no surprise when a couple of friends invited me to watch Super Bowl XLIII at a Steelers-friendly bar in midtown Manhattan.

Whoever your team is, and wherever you’re watching the game, here’s hoping it’s a good one.
